Lyle was very generous in sharing the stage with all his friends who were on the cruise.
He invited Robert Earl Keen up to sing "This Old Porch." They co-wrote this song when they were in college, and each has recorded it.
Tonight, they did Lyle's more mellow, wistful version. I'd love to see Lyle sing on REK's more no-hold's barred, good 'ole boy version.
Emmylou Harris sang harmony on "Walk Through The Bottom Land," a part she sang on the studio version of this song.
I was thrilled when he called Shawn Colvin to the stage to sing the harmony part on "North Dakota," probably my favorite Lyle Lovett song.
And to close out the show, everyone came back to sing a rousing chorus of "I'm Gonna Wait."
Without a doubt, best show of the cruise.
