Early Morning on The Bay
We had a full house last night, when the Lovell Sisters came home with us after playing a gig at the Rams Head in Annapolis. Shawn took the early risers in the group - Rebecca and Daniel - fishing this morning.

Shawn's Birthday Party
We stayed an extra day in Knoxville so Shawn could celebrate his birthday with the kids.
He's been asking for a commercial juicer for some time now. In his quest to devise the perfect margarita, he's determined that fresh-squeezed limes are THE key ingredient.
I bought the juicer attachment for my Kitchen Aid mixer, and while that works, it's not quite as elegant (or physical) as the monster juicers that his favorite bartenders use. I did some research and decided that only a Ra Chand would do. They're made in Mexico and all the best bars have them.
Instead of ordering one and having it shipped (or trying to sneak it to Tennessee in our luggage), I crossed my fingers and hoped I could find one at the restaurant supply store a couple blocks from our old Fifth Avenue house.
Success!
Daniel nearly spoiled the surprise by asking, "What's the deal with the fruit basket in our bedroom?"
"Fruit basket? What fruit basket? You must be seeing things!"
Needless to say, Shawn was delighted when he learned that he REALLY was getting a fruit basket - and that it contained all the fixings for his perfect margarita!
The birthday boy wasted no time - with a little help from Ella - in mixing up a pitcher.
I think he had fun!

Fishin' In The Rain
Daniel had to leave early this morning for a gig in California. He was gone by the time the rest of us got up.
Shawn took Cory & Jacob up to Hawkins County where he grew up to try their luck at some stream fishing. The weather didn't cooperate - it rained all day.
That didn't stop the Kimbros! They got wet, caught fish, and had a great time.

Sally Wollet
Just got the very sad news that Sally Wollet passed away today.
She's been part of my life for so long -- I've known her since I was 16 -- that I can't imagine life without her. My love and prayers go out to Earl and the rest of her family.
This is one of my favorite pictures of all time. It was taken in New Orleans in October 2003.
Rest in peace, Sally. I'll miss you more than I can say.

Scenes From the Lions Club Dinner
Drummond Island Lions Salute Bob Miller
We went to Michigan this weekend to attend a meeting of the Drummond Island Lions Club.
It takes more than an ordinary Lions Club meeting to get us to the Upper Peninsula. This meeting was a tribute dinner for my Dad, to celebrate his service as the District Governor in 2008-2009.
I think Mom is happy now that he's Past District Governor, though they still seem to be on the road a lot, visiting the friends they made during his year at the top.
