Of course, if you want to see San Antonio's most famous attraction - the shrine to Texas independence - you have to find your way out of the River Walk maze. I don't know why I was surprised to find the Alamo sitting on a lush green yard, surrounded on all sides by the city. I guess I wanted it to be in the middle of a dusty desert, the last outpost in the new world.
That being said, it's quite a sight to see.
