Twenty-five years ago today, I put on a yellow floppy hat and witnessed my best friend marry her one true love. At 18, I couldn't think of anything more romantic than driving off into the sunset in a borrowed diesel Chevette -- stopping along the way for three days in Gatlinburg -- to live in a trailer outside a military base with my enlisted sailor husband. Looking back, I know that given the same circumstances, I wouldn't have made it to my paper anniversary, let alone my silver!
