Tall Ships on the Magothy
Shawn snapped this picture when he was coming in last night. This tall ship -- the Baltimore II -- is usually docked at the Inner Harbor in Baltimore. It pulled off into the Magothy for the night, on the way home from Jamestown.

Memorial Day Weekend
Since we didn't go anywhere for Memorial Day -- and since the boys didn't come to us -- we decided at the last minute to throw a little party for everyone else who stayed in town. We were commenting afterward on how times have changed: there were 17 kids -- ranging in ages from almost 9 to just 2 months old -- running around our yard, climbing on the jetty, splashing on the beach, and catching (or at least trying to catch) fish off our dock!
Pictured here are Alex Yee, Matthew and John Wallace (in matching wet suits), Matthew Ross, and Rose Pinkert.

Blue Angels
Every year, the Blue Angles come to Annapolis to celebrate graduation week at the Naval Academy. And every year, Shawn asks me to take off work early and watch the show from our boat. So far, I'm 0 - for - 2. He, however, went and took these pictures.
You can see the crowds who come out, and how close to the boats the pilots fly. The Vol Navy flag is, of course, flying from the bow of Crockett's Reel.
Maybe next year!

Congratulations Tara!
We went to Tennessee this weekend to watch Tara graduate from East Tennessee State University in Johnson City. Graduating from college is enough of a challenge, without the added distractions of an hour-long commute to campus, a husband, a job, two dogs, a cat, and a very active (extremely cute) 3-year-old!
Needless to say, we're very proud of her!
p.s. The pictures:
1. You can't tell from the picture because we were sitting too far away in the stands, but Tara is walking across the stage to get her diploma.
2. Michael made sure everyone would know how to find the party.
3. Ella (age 13 months) -- not Leah -- with Tara.

Foamhenge
Route 11 parallels I-81 through the Blue Ridge. Once the main artery between upstate New York and New Orleans, to us, it's a charming diversion that winds through scenic civil war towns on our way to Tennessee. Crockett was getting restless, so we jumped off the highway near Natural Bridge to find him a place to stretch his legs.
I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes. Unfortunately, all I had was the cell phone camera handy to capture its image. You can read about it here: http://www.roadsideamerica.com/attract/VANATfoamhenge.html
Is this a great country or what??
