Thunder Road - Fully Loaded

One of Shawn's friends took this picture when he ran into the Kimbro boys on the water this weekend.

Love it!

Big Fish For Everyone

Creig has a conference in Washington, DC this week, so he decided to come early and stay late to do a little fishing with Shawn.

Daniel joined them for the weekend, before he had to hit the road for a series of gigs with Larkin Poe.

I think they had a good time!

Crockett Helps With The Yardwork

The azalea in our front yard won't look like this for long. Crockett held still long enough for me to snap his photo when we took a break from pulling weeds this morning.

Good dog! Pretty flowers!

At The American History Museum

That's me in front of Julia Child's kitchen.

Julia's become sort of trendy lately -- all the kids tell me "I loved that movie!" -- but I'm a fan from way back. Many years ago, I found a virtually unused first edition of "Mastering the Art of French Cooking" at a flea market for $5.00. I don't think that would happen today!

Orchid Exhibit at the US Botanical Gardens

My orchids never look this amazing.

Washington Landmarks

While you can pose in front of the Capitol or the White House any time of year, you can only get the wisteria in bloom on the Museum of American History wall this time of year!

Dann Discovers Baltimore's Best Kept Secret

Small Craft Warning? Ha!

Despite a weather forecast of strong winds, high seas, and rain, we decided to do a little fishing before a cold front blew away all the warm weather. It was a little rough on the open water on the way to our fishing spot, but once we got there, it was (relatively) calm.

Since I am the poster girl for Maryland Catch & Release, I had to include a shot of me letting a big rockfish go!

The Bounty

We were surprised to see the tall ship Bounty - registered in Greenpoint, NY - anchored near the mouth of the Magothy River. No crew were in evidence when we circled the ship looking for the perfect sunset shot.

Modern-day mutiny?

Dann & Lisa at Sandy Point Light

Dann said he thought this would make the perfect summer home.

Sandy Point Light

What we saw on the way to Deep Creek for dinner. It's amazing how fast you can get to our favorite waterfront cafe -- BEST CRAB CAKES EVER -- when you take the boat!

Shawn Shows Dann How a Fish Finder Works

Once again, Dann & Lisa drove east to spend spring break on the Eastern Shore with us. They missed the cherry blossoms this year, but got to enjoy our early April record high temperatures.

When it's 90 in April - as opposed to August - you don't have humidity or bugs!

Easter Afternoon on the Mountain

No outing with the Kimbros is complete without a little fishing.

Cory's Chainsaw Buddy

We took Brendon Wright up on his offer to have Easter dinner with his family at their farm in Rhea County. The farm is a little more than an hour outside of Knoxville, near the town of Dayton.

Once you leave the main road (US Rte. 27 - the same one that goes all the way to the Mackinac Bridge), you climb up the mountain on a winding road that you hope (fingers crossed) can accommodate two-way traffic. The scenery at the top, however, is worth the trip.
